12.8V 100Ah Marine LiFePO4 Battery

Sinoah Energy, a UK supplier of the 12.8V 100Ah Marine LiFePO4 Battery, builds it for boats that run a trolling motor, a fridge and navigation electronics through a full day. It stores 1.28kWh, is sealed to IP67 for wash-down, monitors over Bluetooth with an audible alarm, and lasts above 3000 cycles at 70% depth of discharge. UN38.3 and UL1642 certified, 8-year warranty.

The 12.8V 100Ah Marine LiFePO4 Battery is built for boats rather than for engine starting. It supplies sustained current over hours for trolling motors, fish finders, bilge pumps, lights and refrigeration, and it accepts a deep discharge without the capacity loss that shortens the life of a lead-acid battery used the same way.

Sinoah Energy supplies the marine range for yachts, fishing boats, ribs and inland cruisers, as well as caravans and motorhomes where the same duty applies. The case is sealed and rated IP67, so battery boxes no longer need to be kept perfectly dry, and the weight is a fraction of the equivalent lead-acid bank, which matters at the stern of a small boat.

Marine Duty: What a Boat Battery Has to Survive

A boat battery meets conditions that a car battery never does. It is charged and discharged to a deeper level, it sits at an angle in a rolling hull, it takes constant vibration from the engine and the sea, and it lives in damp air with salt present. Lead-acid banks cope with this for a season or two before capacity falls away, partly because a flooded battery left at partial charge sulphates.

LiFePO4 chemistry handles the same duty differently: the cells accept deep discharge, there is no liquid to stratify or top up, the BMS protects against over-discharge when the boat is left for weeks, and the sealed case keeps salt water away from the terminals. The chemistry is also more stable at the temperature swings found in a locker or under a console.

Trolling Motor Runtime

Runtime depends on motor thrust and speed setting. The figures below assume a conventional 12V trolling motor drawing a steady current at mid setting, with 80% of the 100Ah capacity used.

Because LiFePO4 holds voltage under load better than lead-acid, the motor keeps its speed as the battery discharges instead of slowing noticeably in the second hour. The Bluetooth monitor shows remaining capacity as a percentage rather than as a voltage estimate, which is more reliable for planning a return trip.

Installation in a Boat

The battery is fitted in a locker or under a console with the terminals protected and the cables sized for the motor current. As the case is sealed, ventilation is not required for gas, but airflow is still useful to keep the unit cool during long fast charges and to avoid condensation on the terminals.

The battery should be secured against movement in a seaway and mounted with the terminals up. For larger house banks, units are connected in parallel, with each battery fused or linked through a busbar so a single unit can be isolated. Chargers must be set to a lithium profile; a lead-acid or AGM setting will undercharge the pack.

Applications

The 12.8V 100Ah Marine LiFePO4 Battery suits trolling motors on fishing boats and ribs, where deep-cycle capacity and low weight both matter.

House banks on yachts and cruisers running lights, pumps, refrigeration, navigation and communications.

Caravans, motorhomes and off-grid cabins where the battery is charged from solar and a vehicle alternator.

Why Choose Sinoah Energy

Sinoah Energy is a UK-based supplier of LiFePO4 batteries and hybrid inverters, servicing boat owners, yards and marine dealers from UK stock. The marine range is manufactured to UN38.3 and UL1642 standards, and the company offers OEM or ODM customisation for trade customers who need branded cases or specific terminal arrangements.

Support covers system sizing and charger matching before the order, and continues with app-based diagnostics and UK warranty service afterwards. Dealer pricing is available on monthly supply.

FAQ

Q: Can the 12.8V 100Ah Marine LiFePO4 Battery be used for engine starting?

A: It is designed as a deep-cycle battery for house and motor loads. Where a combined start and house duty is needed, the peak current requirement should be confirmed before ordering.

Q: Is it safe in a wet locker?

A: Yes. The case is IP67 and sealed, so spray, rain and wash-down do not affect the cells. Terminals should still be protected and kept clean.

Q: How many can be connected together?

A: Units can be connected in series up to 48V and in parallel to increase capacity, subject to the current limits of the cabling and charger.

Q: Will my existing charger work?

A: The charger must support a lithium profile. Many modern marine chargers have a LiFePO4 setting; older lead-acid chargers should be replaced.

Q: How long will it last?

A: More than 3000 cycles at 70% depth of discharge, which for a seasonal boat is typically several times the life of a lead-acid battery in the same duty.

Q: Is the battery monitored?

A: Yes, over Bluetooth, with state of charge, cell balance and fault history, plus an audible alarm for faults detected while in use.
